It’s that time of year again when the Magpies are swooping on residents through Deniliquin.

Several residents have already been swooped on near South School, the Beach and other locations and there is no doubt the reports will rise over the coming weeks as those Magpies get overprotective of the around their nests.

Residents are urged to record swooping attacks on Magpie Alert in order to keep people informed where attacks are occurring so people can avoid those areas, users can make the reports as detailed as possible to ensure the best report.

Fire at Green Pepper Pizza Café

Green Pepper Pizza Café & Deni’s Diner caught fire in the late afternoon today with details of the fire still coming through social media tonight.

The fire is believed to have been contained to Green Pepper but smoke was inside Coles requiring the store to be closed for the rest of the day.

Emergency Services responded quickly by sending several fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles to the scene.

Nearby business the Scoop & Brew has been praised for assisting employees of the shops and their shoppers during the chaos proving once again that businesses come to the aid of others when support is needed.

The store owner/manager has posted in the Deniliquin Thumbs Up & Thumbs Down group expressing his thanks to emergency services and to the helpers as well as telling everyone the feelings that are being felt at this time but the good news is that he and the staff aim to bounce back from what has happened.
