The Deni Pokémon Wrap (30/8/16)

Pokémon Go Deniliquin

Pokémon Go Deniliquin is now back up to  184 members.

All seems quiet in the group in the last week either everyone is busy or the game is losing its popularity due to all the changes the game makers have made.

Pokémon Shuffle News

Only one of our intrepid Pokémon Shuffle players got to play in the last week and he managed to beat Level 219 (wrongly said 213 last week) and is now stuck on Level 220.

How did he manage it? He had two game jewels left and enough coins to buy five more moves so he used the regular moves, the five he brought and used one jewel to get five more moves to win with three to spare.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Expert and Special Mode provides the Pokémon needed to advance further.

Pokémon Shuffle is free on Nintendo’s eShop and Apple App Store and other locations.

We’ll be back next week with a new edition of The Deni Pokémon Wrap.

Pokémon Go Deniliquin

Pokémon Go Deniliquin now boasts 183 members which is down one member on last weeks total.

Pikachu, Pidgey, Bulbasaur and Charmander seem to be all the rage in town at the moment as they are the mostly commonly reported Pokémon locally.

The Group is the #1 place to go when you want to know everything local about Pokémon Go.

Other Pokémon Games

It’s amazing that below is the majority of Pokémon games and apps out there for fans to play all on the latest Nintendo systems, Some do wish that Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Snap are on that list as they are classics but those in the know can always get the ROMs and emulators for those games.

Pokémon Omega Ruby
Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
Pokémon X
Pokémon Y
Pokémon Red
Pokémon Blue
Pokémon Yellow
Pokémon Art Academy
Pokémon Trading Card Game
Pokémon Dream Radar
Pokedex 3D Pro
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Pokémon Puzzle Challenge
Pokémon Link: Battle
Super Pokémon Rumble
Pokémon Shuffle
Pokémon Picross
Pokémon Rumble World
Pokémon Bank

Would somebody have all the above in their collection in Deniliquin? It would be an expensive task but some people would love the chance to own every game and every app there is out there.

Red, Blue and Yellow are available in the eShop for $13 apiece which isn’t bad considering an original cart of those games are $30 and up apiece.

Pokémon Shuffle News

Past and present locals have stalled on Pokémon Shuffle with last weeks mentioned players still on Level 213 and Level 168 respectively though progress has been made on 213 thanks to using game coins to get 5 additional moves.

As the game progresses it gets tougher so you’ll have to go through the motions of beating past levels again and again in order for your Pokémon to gain experience and then advance further.

Pokémon Shuffle is free on Nintendo’s eShop and Apple App Store and other locations.

We’ll be back next week with a new edition of The Deni Pokémon Wrap.

TV channels to change

There is a big change coming to what you see on TV with WIN and Southern Cross switching allegiances and it comes into effect on July 1.

WIN has carried Channel Nine content for almost 30 years and Southern Cross has shown Channel Ten’s content since 1992 so TV viewers have been used to it for a generation or two.

Now on July 1, WIN will be showing Channel Ten’s content (Masterchef etc) and Southern Cross will now be showing Channel Nine’s content (The AFL Footy Show etc).

So on your remote, Channel 10 shows from Friday will be on channels 8/80s on WIN while Channel 9’s shows will be on channels 5/50s on Southern Cross/Nine and it will take some time to get used to that.

Are you confused by the change? We sure are but this news.com.au piece should be able to clarify what the switches involve or it will induce a spate of head scratching around town as residents get used to changes.

Poker coming to the RSL Club

Poker starts from 7:30pm tomorrow at the RSL Club and there is no doubt that several people will be interested in that fact as Poker can draw in a crowd anywhere that it is played at.

The game of Poker started becoming really popular around the world in the 1970’s and it’s popularity grew so quickly that by the 1990’s it was popular enough that a game of Poker was part of the final character scene of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Poker then became more successful after games made their way on to Television in the late 90’s and was further enhanced by the introduction of Online Poker in the same period of time and it’s popularity continued to grow from there.

For those who want to quickly learn the game to understand what they are seeing or playing at the RSL Club, DNS has found this website that explains the basics of Poker and the page is detailed enough to give the reader a starting point.

DNS wishes all players the very best and may they have a great night.

Algae still sticking around

Recent water testing results have reported that channels to the north of Deniliquin for example Blighty have the highest concentrations of the toxic algae that is causing problems in the local area.

The concentration levels of algae drop towards where Mulwala Lake (Deniliquin’s way) is but while this appears to be good news for Deniliquin it does not mean things are on the improve as levels can fluctuate at any time.

Advice given in previous days remain unchanged so do not allow animals, yourself and fellow human beings touch the water until the all clear is given.

Deniliquin Veterinary Clinic have been exemplary in their reporting and advice giving whilst the official algae page on the Department of Primary Industries website gets updated every couple of days leaving people uncertain as to what is going on for it does not go into lengthy detail.

DNS will continue to report about the latest as it comes to hand.
