Poll Time (23/8/17)

August 23 2017

We are back with four new questions that hopefully will be of interest, we look at the Ute Muster, ERC Election, Rates and School Zones.

Is School Zone speeding becoming a problem?

About once a week, people around town will have heard from somebody else that cars going are fast along the designated school zones, so we are wondering if it is really a problem or just a person or two in a hurry to get somewhere.

Are rates still considered too high?

100% of those who voted four months ago said that they are too high, is it still the case or are things fairer?

Are you getting more excited about the Ute Muster?

By the time the Poll ends, it will be under a month to go until the Muster arrives, are people starting to look forward to the event or it is still buried deep in the mind?

What would you like to see happen from the ERC elections?

A couple of days after this poll is completed, residents of the ERC are going to the polling booth to pick the first full Edward River Council.

What kind of policy would you like to see, somebody combating rates? pushing for transport? making deals to get more cameras up at the Plaza? Be inclusive with other towns?

Will the Australia Day moving situation that is developing in Victoria happen in Edward River Council or will it stay put?

Multiple choice is available and the other section is available if you got something on your mind, it may be a winner.

Polls close on Tuesday September 5 and votes can be made on the right hand side (PC/Mac) and on the bottom for mobile users.

Poll Time (9/8/17)

August 9 2017

We are back with four new questions that hopefully will be of interest, It is not easy coming up with questions every fortnight as we soon run out of topics but we think these new four are alright.

Does Deniliquin Plaza need more Cameras?

We asked this question in December 2016 and 62% of voters said no but as you may of seen in Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down groups cars are still getting hit on a regular basis with the driver usually getting away with it.

As seven months have gone by and with the reports ongoing, it was time to ask the question again to see which way the pendulum swings.

What is your favourite local event?

Out of the Cruising Nationals, Fishing Classic, Ute Muster and Deniliquin Show, which is your favourite local event? If there is an event you want added, let us know.

Are you looking forward to the 2017 Football/Netball Finals?

Finals are just around the corner and the Rams and the Rovers have teams heading for Finals action, are you looking forward to it? (answer doesn’t have to be Rams and Rovers specific).

Have you gotten used to a building between Town Hall and The Globe?

This question may seem odd but after twenty plus years looking at a fence, it may be a little strange seeing a building there again especially those who haven’t been in town for a couple of years.

Polls close on Tuesday August 22 and votes can be made on the right hand side (PC/Mac) and on the bottom for mobile users.

Poll Time (16/5/17)

Our question on what one service would a person want brought to Deniliquin was as most readers know an unexpected success and so after going through the four most popular selections that we haven’t already covered, we are asking four additional questions based on the next popular four selections.

The four questions up for polling are the following;

1. Does Deniliquin need a Kmart?
2. Does Deniliquin need Natural Gas?
3. Does Deniliquin need a Dog Park?
4. Deniliquin Swim Centre needs……..

The poll questions can be found on the right hand side for computer users and on the bottom for those who use phones or tablets.

Readers can check up on results every morning for the first week in our morning news report on FB.

Polls close on May 29 and we will have the results listed in the new edition of Deni Speaks on that same day.

Poll Time (2/5/17)

Our question on what one service would a person want brought to Deniliquin was an unexpected success and so we have chosen four of the most talked about points and are putting them to vote to see just how interested the people are.

The four questions up for polling are the following;

1. Would you use a Deniliquin to Echuca train service?
2. Should Deniliquin have an Indoor Play Centre?
3. Would you use an hourly Deni to Echuca bus service?
4. How do you rate the local roads?

The poll questions can be found on the right hand side for computer users and on the bottom for those who use phones or tablets.

Readers can check up on results every morning for the first week in our morning news report on FB.

Polls close on May 14 and we will have the results listed in the new edition of Deni Speaks on that same day.

Poll Time (20/4/17)

We have three new poll questions on our website for readers to consider for the next two weeks and they are the following;

  1. Should Deniliquin have an Easter Parade in 2018?
  2. Is late night Dog Barking becoming excessive?
  3. What are your thoughts on current Council Rates?

The first question is being asked after one of us went to Bendigo and watched their Parade and wondered if it would work again in Deniliquin and with the Deni Fest happening it could make things bigger.

The second question is asked because we all see reports of dogs barking in town a lot on social media and now we are reading reports of barking in the early AM hours and when that happens you know there is a potential problem.

It is a tricky question because Deniliquin has lanes and people move around all the time and it is natural for dogs to bark at things that move but excessive barking appears to be on the rise and so we are finding out if it is a problem or it is not.

The third is a revisit on a hot topic from last year and that is Council Rates, we are asking if the Council rates are currently considered to be either too generous, just right or are too high.

Polls are on the right hand side of the website for PC users and on the bottom for mobile users and can be answered at any time between now and May 1.
