Behind the Real Estate ball?

Deniliquin Real Estate agents have seemingly been getting away with deceiving people by leaving online houses that have already been sold and showing prospective buyers of other homes pictures of houses that are not current.

Perhaps this is a national or worldwide practice but it is a pain for those trying to find a house to rent or buy.

Home seekers deserve the best level of service and in Deniliquin, up to date housing knowledge is important when it comes to the town is trying to increase it’s population.

Fireworks delight residents, makes them cover ears

Some Deniliquin residents were startled after the Fireworks show at the Mayor’s Christmas Party provided a bigger bang than expected with the sound of the fireworks travelling through the town and surrounding areas so loudly it felt to some like they were standing next to the fireworks launcher itself.

The show was spectacular with the corner of Henry and Hardinge Street and other open areas providing a great vantage point for those who were doing some late night grocery shopping or preferred to skip the party and await the show, it will be interesting to see what happens next year in terms of activities at the party and what the fireworks show brings.

Why is there no major recycling done in Deniliquin?

There is no major recycling service in Deniliquin and that means that thousands of cans, bottles and other recyclables are now in the tip or laying in open fields and are unable to be used again, there is no doubt that opening a recycling centre of any kind is considered too much of a cost but there is no doubt that if people put their minds together a solution can be found.

Perhaps bottles and cans can be stored and then trucked to the nearest recycling centre and then receive money for the cans, Deniliquin Council could perhaps give the Lions Club some assistance in their can collecting efforts to encourage more townspeople to save their cans and earn a couple of dollars.

Perhaps a school could make it a long term project of theirs to participate on one of the can collection days, while there won’t be a ton of cash gained it could be useful for primary school kids whose class could use any money made for a end of term or year treat for their efforts.

Deniliquin is wanting to be the capital of events in the area but perhaps the town can also be at the forefront of caring for the environment as well which will be good for the people, the town and the future.

Hot weather killing Birds in Deniliquin?

Dead birds have been seen on the roads and lawns of Deniliquin in the last couple of days leading to fears that the hot weather that is now coming regularly to Deniliquin may be killing birds who are unable to get any water, residents who have bird baths are encouraged to fill them to ensure that the birds have access to water.

Residents are also encouraged to make sure all their pets have adequate water to get through the hot weather.

Deniliquin’s weather is expected to reach 35 degrees today with 36 and 35 degrees expected for the next two days before staying in the 30’s until Thursday.

Former Railway Station site still a mess

The site of the former Railway station is still considered a mess with bricks still from the station still scattered around the concrete and brick foundations and surrounding area, there is also a build up of rubbish surrounding the station site.

Residents believe that the site is unappealing to both local and tourist eyes and should be cleaned up promptly for surely such a situation does not require considerable resources to correct.

Some residents still hope that trains would return to Deniliquin for the current arrangement of a bus leaving for Echuca just after 7am and pickup from Echuca near 10pm is currently unacceptable, Deniliquin Council has eyes on the airport being made suitable for small airlines but it is felt by many that the train option would be more appealing and be more beneficial long term.
