Conclusion

Partly cloudy weather is on the cards for both Deniliquin and Jerilderie with Deniliquin currently getting the better deal with 20 degrees compared to Jerilderie’s 19.

There is a bit of news from the Rovers, they are having a raffle, $5 per ticket gives you a shot at winning one of ten prizes like a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota RAV4 plus much more.

Pokémon Go

Nothing to report on Pokémon Go as few people are playing it now, local Pokémon group is at 177 members but we will continue to check for news.

Pokémon Shuffle News

Past and present locals are still making progress on Pokémon Shuffle though it is getting harder to catch the Pokémon that are defeated

As you know our two regular gamers Boony and Tiggy are racing each other on the mobile version of the game with Tiggy forging ahead of Boony who is up to Stage 202 whilst Tiggy has moved up one stage to Stage 260 and we will continue to follow the race as it progresses.

Stage 260 has the Psychic Pokémon Deoxys as the challenge whilst Stage 202 has the Dark Pokémon Weavile.

Tiggy has moved ahead of Boony on the Pokémon count with Tiggy leading with 206 Pokémon caught to Boony’s 203.

The Rams travelled down to Numurkah whilst the Rovers hosted Berrigan.

Results as usual are split into the categories Rams Football Results, Rovers Football Results, Rams Netball Results and Rovers Netball Results followed by our conclusion where we tally up the wins to see if the Rams and the Rovers win the day overall.

Seniors lost 13.17 – 95 to 4.3 – 27

Conclusion

The Rams Football sides results did not go their way with three losses out of the four games played.

The Rams Netball sides had an overall win with five wins from their eight matches.

The Rovers Football sides scored an overall tie against Berrigan with two wins and two losses from their matches.

The Rovers Netball sides won the day against their opposition.

We’ll be back next Thursday with a roundup on how all the Rams and Rovers sides are going leading up to Round 7.

1916 Postcard Update

News

We started looking for Carrigan Villa on the internet and was having no luck until we visited a site that archived newspapers online.

First we found plenty of mentions of Carrigan but all were about Carrigan Road in Warragoon.

We then chanced upon a September 1913 newspaper reporting on the sales of livestock and among all the people and locations stood out ‘G. Hetherington, Carrigan Villa, Deniliquin’ and with that it confirmed the place existed and potentially who owned the place.

Assuming the property did not change hands between 1913 and 1916 we now know who lived at Carrigan Villa.

We still don’t know who Connie is and we don’t know who the writer Jean Williamson is as the postcard had no return address or a description.

It has been a great journey learning about the writer and would of been receiver of the postcard, it also gave an insight into the war years and there is a new theory that it was not sent because it could be censored as the military wouldn’t want any potential spies knowing a bunch of Australians were going to France in 1917.

If we ever find out the answers to all our questions we will happily let you all know as we are all on this journey together.

Deniliquin is expected to have 19 Degrees weather with partly cloudy results and high humidity that should lower by the middle of the day.

Numurkah is expected to have 19 Degrees weather with partly cloudy results and high humidity which will still be in the 80% range at Noon.
