Parity for Fuel at last?

It has been said for many years that everything in the Country is far more dearer than what is in Suburban or City areas.

Fuel may at last be reaching parity with prices now under a Dollar in Deniliquin for most sorts of fuel for example we have four prices below from Metro Mobil North Deniliquin with three of four varieties under a Dollar (these could be Happy Hour prices).

E10 – 93.7
Diesel – 94.7
Ulp91 (Unleaded) – 97.7
Ulp95 (Unleaded) – 110.7

Prices in Suburban areas around the country are also in the 90 cents range meaning that parity is much closer than ever before which is a result deserving of those in rural areas.

There is one concern and that is after hours of research stations around the country are not always showing the same amount, some stations could offer Petrol five or so cents higher than a station that is in sight of it.

Regardless of prices coming from Happy Hour or Fuel companies being nice, We hope the lower prices will remain and take us back to those times in the early 2000’s where fuel prices were not sky high allowing more freedom to go out and enjoy things down the road (Movies in Echuca etc) without blowing the weekly budget.

Raising funds for defining cause

Earlier this week, DNS wrote about the World’s Greatest Shave Cake Stall that will be at the Cressy St Kiosk on March 19.

We now write about fundraising efforts by past and present residents who are participating in the World’s Greatest Shave.

Megan and Celeste are currently fundraising money and their quest for donations is because of a personal link to what the Leukemia Foundation fights for and their reasons can read about on their pages whose links are at the bottom of this story.

So far the siblings have raised a total of $93 between them and DNS hopes readers will be generous and push those totals higher, donors have the option of donating a set total or one they can put in themselves, one off or regular donations and best of all Credit Card or Paypal payment methods.

Donors can also choose to be anonymous which is good for those who like to give and not have the spotlight cast upon them even if it is deserved.

Donate today and give the Leukemia Foundation the help it needs to help those with a Blood Cancer and 34 more Australians every day who get given the news they’ve got it too.

Support the Leukemia Foundation on 19/3/16

Deniliquin residents and visitors should make sure they’ve got plenty of room in their stomach for Cakes and much more on March 19 as a World’s Greatest Shave Cake Stall will be operating for charity at the Cressy Street Kiosk.

There will be lots of great tasting treats for residents to purchase and money raised will be going to the Leukemia Foundation which is a great foundation and deserves the money it gets from a generous and caring general public.

So leave a space in your stomach and open up your wallets and purchase some fine food all in the name of supporting a great cause and a great foundation.

Campaign keeps on going

By now, the campaign in support of the Nurses at Deniliquin Hospital has been going at a fair clip of speed since Friday morning and shows no sign of slowing down.

Supplies of Blue material are still arriving in town and are now available at Deniliquin Florist as more and more Businesses offer to put signs and other material in their stores, two of the latest stores to join are SeigDiesel and 4WD as well as Deniliquin Bakery.

The silent protest site is serving it’s purpose well with no shortage of messages of support on display, residents and visitors to the town can see it 410 Charlotte Street, residents are reminded to not protest in front of the hospital in the event it disrupts the treatment and care of patients.

A sign posted in support of the Nurses has been taken down from inside Deniliquin Hospital, the sign read ‘Thank you to all our amazing Nurses in Deniliquin, Your community respects and appreciates you’

There is a new page now operational to check out on Facebook and it is called ‘Keep Deni Blue’ you can visit and like the page anytime at https://www.facebook.com/keepdeniblue

DNS will continue to report on the protest until it reaches a hopefully satisfactory conclusion.
