Patrick’s PC Pick-me-ups Boots Up

Patrick’s PC Pick-me ups is now in operation for Deniliquin’s residents and that is good news for those who need advice and/or more on computers.

Patrick’s offers free quotes and an no fix, no fee guarantee on all but the Virus Scan service making it a good place for people to enquire about their computing questions and repair advice/service.

There are four main kinds of PC services that Patrick’s offers, Elderly Tutoring, New Build, Diagnosis and Virus Scan.

Elderly Tutoring is for those elderly who want to learn how to use the computer and do all the things needed to stay in touch with people online, the cost for the service is $30 per hour.

New Build is suggesting items that are needed for a PC build so you the buyer get the right parts for what you need instead of getting an over or under powered PC and when you get the parts Patrick can install them for you, this service costs $80.

Diagnosis is when your computer is having troubles and you don’t know what can be the cause of it, Patrick will get to work on finding the problem in the space of 30 minutes to an hour at a cost of $50.

Virus Scan is when Patrick gives the computer a Virus and Malware Scan to ensure that your computer does not have Viruses, Malware or Bloatware, a Virus Scan costs $50.

Patrick can do a whole lot more PC services but the services do not extend to corporate and so if you want to find out more about the business and what it offers, head on over to the Facebook page, like the page and drop a line if you have any enquiries.

Seven to battle for Farrer

At around 9am tomorrow, Candidates for the Federal seat of Farrer will be stating their cases to be elected to Canberra live on ABC Riverina.

ABC Riverina will be broadcasting tomorrow from the Peppin Heritage Centre giving residents a chance to hear the candidates views on local issues and what they promise to do upon being elected.

This election has a seven person field for the seat that has been held by the Liberals or the Nationals for decades and it is considered one of the safest seats in the nation which is good news for current member Sussan Ley though nothing is a sure thing in politics.

Below is the list of candidates and links to either personal pages or political party pages for those who want to see what each party and/or their candidate has to offer if the voter chooses to vote for somebody instead of casting a donkey vote.

Ron Pike (Liberty Alliance)
Amanda Cohn (Greens)
Paul Rossetto (Christian Democratic Party)
Brian Mills (Independent)
Sussan Ley (Liberal)
Christian Kunde (Labor)*
Trevor O’Brien (Mature Australia)

*Christian Kunde quit as the ALP candidate today after reportedly defending a senior member of extremist Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Currently there is the feeling around the country that the Liberals/Nationals and the ALP have let down the nation in recent years and so this election could be the election where the Greens, Independents, CDP, MA and ALA have the opportunity at least in Farrer to have a say in Canberra.

Tomorrow can be an important day in deciding who to vote for as the political hopefuls can either rise or falter in front of the flash of the camera and the metal/plastic of the microphone.

So if you are politically interested or just want to see a live radio broadcast as it unfolds, head on down to the Peppin Heritage Centre from 6:30am and see what happens throughout the morning.

Walkers urged to stay on footpaths

Concerns have been growing about road safety in recent weeks with reports of people walking on the roads late at night and nearly being hit by motorists who are unable to see them due to the darkness and/or a lack of high visibility clothing.

Residents are urging walkers to not walk on the road and instead use footpaths as footpaths are made for walking on, if there are no footpaths on a walker’s route it is suggested that they walk along the nature strips to ensure their safety.

DNS wishes everyone safe travels whether it is by foot or by wheeled transport.

No charge waste disposal (18-19 June)

There are times where we got a lot of waste and we want to properly dispose of it all in one go some weekend in time but getting everything together can be a costly exercise particularly if the removal of waste exceeds the allocation of free or cheap landfill disposal.

Thankfully on the 18th and 19th of this month you can dispose of your waste with exceptions of commercial, construction and demolition waste at the Edward River Council (formerly Deniliquin Council) Landfill Depot.

Details are below and we hope that many residents get the opportunity to go and properly dispose of their waste ensuring that nothing like couches get left scattered amongst nature or along the highways like people around the world are known to do.

OPEN WEEKEND AT EDWARD RIVER LANDFILL DEPOT

As part of the service offered to residents, The Edward River Council Landfill Depot will be open for residents to deliver waste at no charge on the 18 and 19 June 2016.

Any waste delivered must be sorted into steel, glass, paper, green waste and general waste as per the normal requirements.

This shall include the disposal of Mattresses, Refrigerators and other White Goods and Furniture. This is for residential properties only and does not include commercial waste or construction and demolition waste.

This service is for residents of the Edward River Council area and proof of residency may be requested by Council staff.

If you have any questions regarding these changes please contact Council on 03 5898 3000.

Proof of residency may be required at the Landfill Depot.

For further information contact the Council Office on 03 5898 3000.
