Australia Day 2018 events

There is plenty of events happening on Australia Day in town and the surrounding areas.

A Community BBQ Breakfast will be run by the Rotary Club of Deniliquin and after the Breakfast comes the Citizenship Ceremony, an address by the ERC’s Australia Day Ambassador Robbie Mackinlay and the morning finishes up with the presentation of the 2018 Australia Day Awards.

The Edward River Hotel has the North Westers playing for patrons from 3pm, Happy Hour is between 5pm and 6pm, a Raffle at 6:30pm and there is a BBQ and a Best Dressed competition.

The RSL Club has a busy Friday lined up as they have a Rock n Roll Weekend which starts on the 26th and in the Main Lounge from 7:30pm isĀ “Who Was That Cat”.

They also have Bingo from 11:30am with half a book $2.50 and a full one for $5,

In the Gallery Room they will have a Seafood Buffet from 6pm to 9pm and costs $45 for adults, $22.50 for kids aged between 8 and 14, $12 for kids who are between 3 and 7 and kids who are under 3 are free.

It is advised that you book at reception for the Seafood Buffet.

Their Raffle tickets start selling from 5:30pm and prizes are drawn at 7pm with lots of prizes to be won.

For kids there is ‘Build Your Own Sundae’ between 2pm-3pm down in the Little Diggers Area.

If you want to travel down to the border, there is ‘Revving the River’ down in Echuca that goes from the 26th until the 28th of January.

The North takes on the South in a 20/20 Cricket match at Blighty, the action starts from 10am.
