The December 2008 record of 68.8mm of rain was broken in the early hours of this morning.
4.8mm of rain fell from around 6:04pm until midnight with 4mm of it falling in just an hour and sixteen minutes.
The local area was also battered by high wind gusts between 5:56pm and 6pm, the winds reached 70km/h whilst the gusts were blowing at 100km/h.
The last of the major gusts was at 6:06pm with the gust recorded at 76km/h.
There was one report of a power outage around Wirraway Drive and lasted for several hours according to the Essential Energy power map.
The rain returned between 5:30am and 6:50am this morning which broke the tie between December 2008’s record and this month and now that we have a new December rainfall record.
