Poll Time (3/4/17)

We have three new poll questions on our website for readers to consider for the next two weeks and they are the following;

  1. Should the Gun Laws be loosened?
  2. Should the ERC establish a Recycling program ASAP?
  3. Do we need more Police Officers in Deniliquin?

The first question is one that has been debated within DNS for some time, there are different opinions on the subject but we feel the question being asked has plenty of possibilities to suit as many people as possible.

We ask that people do not make thoughts personal in written comments, all have a right to an opinion but everyone also has the right to not be belittled or insulted because of their opinion.

It should be noted that all yes votes would follow the current criteria concerning being allowed to own certain guns (criminal record checks, mental health checks etc.)

Multiple choice is available for this question in case a person agrees to two or three of the four ‘Yes’ proposals and doesn’t want to say yes to all four or answer ‘No’ to the question.

The second question is to ask if a recycling program should be established ASAP to take advantage of Deniliquin’s mass of recyclable material as well as the material scattered throughout the ERC.

The third question is asking if Deniliquin needs more Police Officers, there are concerns that crime is growing and we want to know if people believe that more Police are needed to ensure the safety of residents as well as enforcing the law (rubbish dumping, parking where you are not supposed to, other laws).

Poll questions are on the right hand side of this website and are scheduled to be changed on April 17.

Poll Time (20/3/17)

We have three poll questions for readers to consider for the next two weeks.

  1. Is Rubbish becoming more widespread?
  2. Are drugs becoming a problem locally?
  3. Are you happy with local radio station playlists?

The rubbish question comes as rubbish has been found along the riverbank and other locations and it is starting to frustrate locals and someone has to say it has to stop or just allow it to continue.

The drug question was planned for asking after needles were found around town, the question was then held up until the previous poll questions were answered and now we’ve got the opportunity to ask.

Radio playlists are like Baseball, it is either a hit or a miss to listeners and we are wondering if the playlists are pleasant on the ears or do they need a little tweaking like feeling that there should be more or less classic rock, more local music content, take a chance on unknowns or play a wider variety of music or something else.

Poll questions are on the right hand side of this website and are scheduled to be changed on April 3.
