HCF is closing real soon

Deniliquin’s HCF branch will be closing in just under a week (3pm on Thursday August 11) and residents are still unhappy with the decision by HCF to leave the town.

Google already has the HCF branch marked as permanently closed which is a little premature especially for those who want to stay get their claims sorted in the next week.

The HCF office doesn’t just benefit Deniliquin residents, It benefits those in nearby towns as the nearest office is hundreds of kilometres away and so they need the HCF branch to stay open too.

Filling in forms online may be considered the most efficient way to go for businesses but  it is easy for customers to become flustered when they don’t know how to use a computer or they get stuck on a section and there is nobody to see to help them through it.

The service that the branch staff provides in getting people through the above gives customers the assistance they need and give the customer the assurance and comfort that everything is filled in correctly.

When August 11 comes around and HCF isn’t swayed to stay, Some may feel that it’s all over red rover but as it has been seen many times before a business that departs can always be a business that returns later on so don’t give up on trying.

Some may think Rural people complain too much about the lack of services but humanity is making it’s way towards the age of equality and that equality must extend to the country areas having the services that those in the suburban areas of our nation enjoy.

Thoughts

There is a lot to play for this weekend with several Rovers teams able to gain ladder positions with a win and potentially lose spots with a loss.

C Grade can finish on top of the ladder if they defeat Berrigan, Berrigan were the better team in Round 9 but nine rounds is a long time in Netball and the Rovers can turn the tables on them this Saturday.

Another game of interest is the Seniors Football match with a Rovers win giving the team third position and a loss could potentially see them falling down to fifth if Blighty defeats Strathmerton.

The 1986 and 1996 Reserves Premiership winning sides are having their reunion on Friday and some may be seen at the game on Saturday, we wish them a great time over the next couple of days.

The 250 Club draw is at 6pm on Saturday, it’s $100 a ticket and the final day for tickets is today, Ticket holders have a chance to win $5000 and they also get to enjoy nibbles and drinks from 12:30pm right up to the final siren of the Seniors match.

The Goods and Services Auction is on right after the draw and the items on offer are very impressive and we congratulate the community on their generosity to the club.

For details on the 250 Club draw and what the Goods and Services Auction offers, see the Rovers FB page immediately so you don’t miss out.

Rovers Talk will be back on Saturday night with all the results for you to read and hopefully enjoy.

Thoughts on Updates

The new updates to Pokémon Go have not been well received by local gamers and the majority of gamers from around the world, the backlash has been very strong and should result in positive changes sooner rather than later.

To The Limit

Gamers are playing Pokémon to the limit with screenshots showing gamers catching Pokémon with low amounts of battery power left in their phone (one example shown 2%), There is no doubt that businesses wish they could charge players money for them to recharge phones in their stores as it would be a great money spinner.

On the other hand, A smart business could mention phone charging whilst enticing passers by with mentions of food or drink et.

Pokémon Caught

Aerodactyl and Scyther are two of the Pokémon recently caught in Deniliquin, they are welcome additions to anyone’s list.

That is all we have for this edition of ‘The Deni Pokémon Wrap’ we hope you enjoyed this edition and we will be back with more local Pokémon news next week’.
