The Deni Pokemon Wrap (6/12/16)

Pokémon Go Deniliquin

Pokémon Go Deniliquin is now down to 180 members and is seemingly on the downturn.

For those who want to see memes, stats and other news visit the Pokémon Go page that has over 2.9 million likes.

It does appear that there will be new Pokemon and new rules in the offering for gamers who still play the game that briefly took the world by storm.

There is the possibility that business will pick up over Christmas because there is not much to do during that time though gamers must remember they cannot play in their cars.

Pokémon Shuffle News

Past and present locals are still making progress on Pokémon Shuffle.

As you know our two regular gamers Boony and Tiggy are racing each other on the mobile version of the game with Boony sitting on Stage 190 and Tiggy has moved up to Stage 207 and we will continue to follow the race as it progresses.

Boony still has a lead on Tiggy when it comes to totals of Pokemon caught with Boony boasting a total of 196 Pokemon to Tiggy’s total of 184.

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon is still getting a workout and we will get around to reporting on all the goodies and baddies of the two games real soon.

We’ll be back next week with a new edition of The Deni Pokemon Wrap.

Poll results (29/11/16)

Poll numbers have been down on previous editions with just a handful of votes cast on each question.

Question 1 asked if there should be a 7 day a week Youth only Community Centre and 71% of responders said yes.

Question 2 asked if Deniliquin needs bins outside the CBD and 100% of voters said yes to that question.

It may be possible that we will revisit the Community Centre question in the future to see if we get more opinions or not.

It is conclusive that locals want bins installed outside the CBD to combat the rubbish that is dumped on footpaths and nature strips, it may not eliminate the problem but any improvement would be nice also the retrieval of rubbish could lead to jobs.

Thank you to all readers who voted.

The Deni Pokemon Wrap (30/11/16)

Pokémon Go Deniliquin

There is some good news and that is there is a new post in the group with Ditto now available to catch.

Past and present locals are still making progress on Pokémon Shuffle.

As you know our two regular gamers Boony and Tiggy are racing each other on the mobile version of the game with Boony sitting on Stage 190 and Tiggy has moved up to Stage 198 and we will continue to follow the race as it progresses.

Tiggy found that using Aerodactyl as the Mega Pokemon comes in handy against Steelix as the Pokemon can break down the barriers and take HP off Steelix.

Boony still has a massive lead on Tiggy when it comes to totals of Pokemon caught with Boony boasting a total of 196 Pokemon to Tiggy’s total of 178.

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon is still getting a workout and we will get around to reporting on all the goodies and baddies of the two games real soon.

Nationals defeated at Orange

The seat of Orange has officially fallen to the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party by 55 votes and this result may open the door for more shock results in State and Federal level.

There is talk around the nation that One Nation may gobble up seats in State Elections across Australia in the next couple of years though One Nation does have a history of ripping itself apart the moment they get any seats.

The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party could use the win at Orange as a springboard to claim more rural seats at both State and Federal level and there is no doubt Farrer and/or Murray would be on the shopping list.

The Australian Liberty Alliance could also benefit in the next elections, The ALA grabbed  6.08% of the vote in Farrer to finish behind the Libs, ALP and The Greens and if they are wise they would be working every day to be ready to have a serious crack of either winning Murray or Farrer.

The Greens grabbed 8.22% of the Farrer vote and they could make major gains if they really think about their policies and perhaps consider landing a solar project or something renewable in the area that requires workers and incoming dollars.

Voters could also go the Independent route and pick somebody not with a party which means if Parliament is tight, major parties will beat a path to their door, Brian Mills did pick up 4.28% of the Farrer vote not so the idea of Independent voting is not too farfetched.

As mentioned in our previous story, the upcoming elections will likely see Pork Barrelling for the first time in a long time as the Coalition aim to keep Murray and Farrer in their grasp and the ALP and other parties will aim to entice voters to change.

Stay tuned.

Solid business, solid growth?

It has been a month since the launch of That Pizza and we’re glad to report that business is doing well for them and we are very pleased that the publics expectations have largely (possibly entirely) been met.

It is always great when a business quickly becomes entrenched in peoples lives because it means there is confidence in the business and a business that can stick around is always good news for the town.

Hopefully the success of That Pizza will mean an upswing in things on the business front around town as there are still a number of people around town that want a job but don’t have the opportunity and when people don’t have the opportunity they move out of town to find that opportunity.

So keep on spending local wherever possible readers and keep those cash registers going off for the more business that businesses get, the more people are hired to keep up with demand and that may lead to other businesses thinking it is a good idea to try their luck locally.
