The mass of rubbish in the waters of Brown Park is now obvious to residents thanks to the lowering of water levels.
An assortment of rubbish from Cola cans to wrappers were spotted in both the mud and the water, Council is currently doing work on the lake but whether that work extends to taking the rubbish out before they refill the lake is unknown at this time despite the removal being the logical choice.
DNS hopes that the logical action will take place in the near future which will lead to cleaner water and a cleaner image for the town.
Residents, Visitors and Enviromentalists can still sign the petition calling on Deniliquin Council to make a better cleaning effort at
All signatures will generate an email to Deniliquin Council with the hopes enough people will sign to enact urgent action from Council.
