Rovers Talk (9/6/16)

Round 10 of the Football and Netball seasons is coming up this weekend and for the first time we get to see how every side measures up to each other thanks to all sides now having played each other once and had a bye each (two in A Grade’s case).

With everyone playing each other once, teams this week will be playing their Round 1 opponents and in the Rovers case that is Yarroweyah.

Netball

A Grade are sitting third on the ladder with a 4-2-1 record, their Yarroweyah opponents are sitting in seventh spot with a 1-7 record.

Yarroweyah thanks to their win last week are no longer winless this season and will be hungry to win two in a row.

Last time they met: A Grade won their Round 1 match against Yarroweyah 54 to 21.

B Grade are sitting on top of the ladder with a 8-0 record and they are up against a Yarroweyah side that is yet to win this season but that does not mean the match will be a slam dunk for the Rovers as they chase a ninth win in a row.

C Grade are sitting in second on the C Grade ladder with a 6-2 record and they will take on a Yarroweyah side that is yet to win so far this season and there is no doubt the Rovers will be wary of a side hungry to break their 2016 drought.

C Reserve are in second position on the C Reserve ladder with a 6-2 record and they are up against a Yarroweyah side that is currently winless at this stage of the season and that means the Rovers side has to be wary of them on Saturday.

Under 17‘s are top of the ladder with an 8-0record and will be out to make it nine in a row against a Yarroweyah side that is sitting in eighth with a 1-7 record and are eager to improve that record to 2-7.

Under 15‘s are sitting sixth on the ladder with a 3-5 record and are up against a Yarroweyah side that is third on the ladder with a 6-2 record.

A win for the Rovers will ensure the side is no more than two wins outside the Top 5 with all wins important for the Rovers from now on.

Under 13‘s are on top of the ladder with an 8-0 record and come up against a Yarroweyah side that is yet to win so far this season but like many of the Rovers teams they will be wary of Yarroweyah who are no doubt eager to get a win on the board.

Thoughts

Several Yarroweyah teams have not had a win so far this year but this does not mean that the Rovers teams playing against them will be certain winners on Saturday.

Rovers Talk will be back on Saturday night with all the results for you to read and hopefully enjoy.
