It has not been a good couple of weeks for those wishing to see events happen in Deniliquin, first the ‘End of Harvest Ball’ which was to be held on New Years Eve was cancelled and now the 2015 Big Sky Blues and Roots Festival is cancelled.

Deniliquin will lose up to five million dollars that would of been generated by the event, the reason given for the cancellation was a lack of headline artists but it is not all bad news for the Festival is expected to be going strong in 2016.

Council is confident that despite the cancellation Easter tourism levels will be strong although contingency plans will be discussed to make sure that there is no major tourism and economic downturn for Easter 2015.
