Deniliquin’s two Football and Netball clubs were away this week with the Rams playing Nathalia and the Rovers playing Rennie.

Meanwhile in Rugby Union action, the Deniliquin Drovers played Waratahs at Rotary Park and came away 38 to 5 winners.

Conclusion

Only the Rams Thirds and Fourths played today but both sides scored wins making it a good day.

The Rams netballers won the day overall by winning all seven of their matches.

The Rovers footballers won three out of their four matches with the Seniors overrunning their opposition after being down at three quarter time.

The Rovers netballers narrowly lost the day after being defeated in four out of the seven matches played today.

The achieved the highest netball score of goals in their game whilst in football the kicked the highest score of the day with a massive 29.14 – 186 score.

Saturday saw the Rovers travel out to Jerilderie to play their round of matches whilst the Rams traveled out to play Katandra on Sunday.

Conclusion

It was a mixed day for the Rams footballers, the Seniors and the Reserves suffered losses but the Thirds and the Fourths scored big wins to keep up their fine starts to the season.

The Rams netballers almost had the perfect day with seven wins from eight matches and they will be very happy with that outcome.

The Rovers footballers had the perfect day after achieving another clean sweep.

The Rovers netballers had a very solid day on the court and won the day overall.

The A Grade Rams achieved the highest score of 70 goals in netball whilst in football the Rovers Fourths kicked the highest score of the day with a massive 28.16 – 184 score.

Sports Talk (26/4/18)

April 26 2018

This weekend sees our local teams hit the road.

The Rams are off to Katandra and it will a change of scenery as Katandra up until early this year was part of the PDFNL.

The Rovers are off to Jerilderie to play their matches.

Katandra is expected to be 22 degrees with winds staying around 10km/h for the duration of the day.

Jerilderie is predicted to be slightly warmer with 23 degrees expected with winds expected to be under 10km/h for the day.

Both days will be sunny with will no doubt please all those participating in the matches and those watching the matches.

Below is how the Rams and the Rovers teams are going so far this season.

Today was round 2 of the PDFNL season with the Rovers travelling out to Berrigan.

Meanwhile in the Murray Football League and Murray Netball League, the Rams got to put their feet up courtesy of a bye.

Conclusion

The footballers achieved a clean sweep whilst the netballers narrowly won the day by winning four out of the seven matches.

The Fourths kicked the highest score with 29.14 and C Reserve got the highest netball score with 61 in their big win.

Today was the start of the PDFNL season for the Rovers with the team playing host to Strathmerton.

Today in the Murray Football League and Murray Netball League was Round 2 and today’s action saw the Rams play host to Rumbalara.

Conclusion

The Rams are going fantastically well in Netball and they must be really happy with their clean sweep today.

Youth continue to the shining light for the Rams in Football as the Under 14’s and 17’s have won by impressive margins but fans will be starting to worry about the Seniors and Reserves.

The Rovers will be happy with their Netball sides efforts today with five wins from seven games today, there is no doubt that Sponsors Day was a great success for those businesses who put money into the club.

The football sides had a great day and the Seniors must be really happy with getting a win over an always strong Strathmerton side and we certainly hope it is the launching point for a return to finals football.
